Project
Management Basics for Trainers:
Stop winging it and get control of your training projects! In this session,
a number of basic project management terms will be covered such as what is:
a project, project manager, a business objective vs. project objective,
scope, a project plan vs. task plan, a deliverable, a sponsor and more!
Once we’ve defined various terms and reviewed the basic project management
steps, you will have an opportunity to use a case study to practice filling
out basic project plans and utilizing project tools!

Scott McCluer is a Project Management Director for Nationwide Insurance in Des Moines, Iowa. Scott oversees a team of training professionals responsible for providing basic and advanced insurance education and business acumen training for the Nationwide Property and Casualty Insurance Organization (PCIO). Scott partners with multiple training groups across the PCIO to identify and resolve performance gaps to meet corporate strategies and provide consistent training throughout Nationwide. Scott has more than 20 years of insurance and training experience.
Scott graduated from Wichita State University with a BA in Political Science. He has also earned following professional designations: Associate in Underwriting (AU), Associate in Personal Insurance (API), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), and Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP). Scott is an instructor for the Insurance Institute of American and has twice been recognized nationally as an “Outstanding Course Leader.”

Jodi Noble is a Learning and Performance Consultant for Nationwide Insurance
in Des Moines, Iowa. As part of the technical skills training team, Jodi's
main focus is on project management and business acumen. Her position
focuses on managing the numerous shared business model initiatives the team
is involved with and working to strengthen the team's role as a corporate
business partner. Jodi has a background in both personal and commercial
insurance. She holds a Master of Public Administration degree with an
emphasis in executive development and a Master of Science degree in adult
learning, performance, and development from Drake University. She also holds
the Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified Professional in
Learning and Performance (CPLP) designations.
