e-learning experience!

instructor-led, well organized, and highly interactive e-learning.

courses so successful.

completion rate and 4.5 success rating (out of 5).

Program Description:
The best way to improve your training is to encourage participants to
interact with each other, with the content, and with you. In this
workshop, Thiagi will reveal five secrets of effective interactive
training that are faster, cheaper, and better. You will begin by rapidly
exploring 60 different training strategies. Later, you will master
additional details of several strategies:
-Structured sharing that helps practitioners exchange their
expertise
with each other
-Interactive lectures that enable you to retain control of the
session while participants interact with each other
-Textra games that make your dull, dry handouts come alive
- Simulation games that use inexpensive materials and methods to
reflect the realities of the workplace
- Jolts that last for a few minutes and provide powerful insights and
concepts
With Thiagi's framegame approach, you will learn how to load existing
templates to create your own games in a matter of minutes. You will also
learn how to avoid irrelevant fluff and fun and immerse your participants
in engaging activities.
Part 2. Conducting Training Games and Activities
Are you excited about training games and activities but anxious about
losing control, wasting time, and being attacked by participants? Based on
20 years of field experience and research, Thiagi shares with you three
important secrets of effective training facilitation:
1. Identify seven critical dimensions of activities-based training
(including pace, intensity, competition, and playfulness). Learn how
to select, maintain, and balance appropriate intensities of these
dimensions.
2. Recognize difficult participants and their disruptive behavior
patterns. Learn strategies for discouraging such patterns and
specific tactics for handling each pattern
3. Identify the importance of the debriefing process for linking the
training game or activity to the workplace reality. Learn a powerful
six-phase model for maximizing learning from experience.

As Trainers, Facilitators, or Change Agents (TFC's) we tend to underestimate our power. We are used to thinking that line managers, clients, and senior staff "have more power" than us. In holding to this concept that power is something people have, we underestimate our own power and so lose a great deal of power that is potentially available to us. This session will demonstrate how as a TFC you can achieve much higher levels of purpose, in shorter periods of time and at less cost of all kinds than you currently believe possible. In other words you will become a much more power-full TFC.
The session will be based on the AIC Appreciation, Influence and Control philosophy, model and organizing process that has been used all over the world. The purpose of the session is three fold:
1. To introduce FTC's to the AIC model
2. To give participants practice in its use
3. To start the process of making participants more "power-full" in their life and work
William E. Smith, Ph.D. is an innovative thinker and practitioner in the field of leadership, organization, and social development. With Dr. Elizabeth B. Davis, he co-authored the book, The Creative Power of Purpose, which provides the origin, foundations and practice of the AIC process - appreciation, influence, and control - which will be published at the end of 2006. His work on perfecting the implementation of the AIC process concepts has been done through application in all major cultures and at every level of organizational hierarchy. He holds a MBA from Indiana University, and a Ph.D. from the Wharton Graduate School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He also helped found Organizing for Development, an International Institute which has adopted the AIC concepts and models as the basis for its work.
Elizabeth B. Davis, Ph.D. is an authority in strategic management, business policy, and organizational systems dynamics with numerous publications on decision-making, strategic management, stakeholder issues, and ethics. She teaches at the graduate and undergraduate levels in Strategy, Systems Thinking, Organization Management Systems, and Comparative Management and is currently an Associate Professor & Program Director of Organizational Sciences & Director of the GWU Women's Leadership Institute at the George Washington University. Dr. Davis earned her B.A. from Columbia University and her Ph.D. in Social Systems Science from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
