Trainer's Boot Camp Series #1: Fine Tuning My Facilitation Skills
Location – Pioneer Hi-Bred 7000 NW 62nd Avenue, Johnston
Time – 9Am – 4PM

Event Description:
Whether experienced or a novice, this session is for you! For those experienced in facilitation, this will be an opportunity to hone and refine some of your skills that may have slipped in the months and years gone by.
For those who are novice, this will be a chance to get off on the right foot as you move into the classroom.
In this one day session we will discuss the principles of adult learning, how to prepare for a training session, secrets to conduct a session, and how to handle various types of class participants. Along with this, you will have an opportunity to prepare for and present a "mini" training session, where you will be videotaped and coached by seasoned professionals and peers. What a great opportunity!
After participating in this session, participants will be able to:
- Define the adult learning principles that can assist in the design, development and facilitation of their training
- Identify the pre-session considerations for an effective training session
- Prepare and facilitate a mini training session
- Utilize a variety of strategies to effectively work with class participants

Trainer’s Boot Camp Series #2: Developing Successful Training Programs for the Workplace
Location - John Deere Financial 6400 NW 86th Street, Johnston
Time– 9 AM – 4 PM

Event Description: We use instruction pamphlets when hooking up our new flat screen televisions. We use recipes when trying out a new meal mentioned in our favorite magazine. Then it should be natural to think we need guidance when designing effective training programs for our employees! We will begin the day by exploring how to analyze your employee training needs. We’ll move to identifying the course content, and wrap up with designing the interactive training program. Besides learning from tenured professionals in the field, you will have an opportunity to network with others who are involved in their organization's employee development efforts.
At the end of this training day, you will be well equipped to:
- Identify performance gaps and conduct a needs assessment
- Utilize principles of the adult learning process in training design
- Incorporate various exercises in your training program to increase engagement and interaction
