Communication Schedule

Throughout the year, we reach out to our members to remind them of upcoming membership renewals, inform them of chapter events, and other general communication regarding the chapter.  So you are more informed as a member, we are sharing this communication schedule with our membership.  


Membership Renewal
First Renewal Notice - sent 60 days prior to membership expiration date
Second Renewal Notice - sent 30 days prior to membership expiration date
Final Renewal Notice - sent the day your membership expires

If you renew your membership at anytime during the 60 day period, you will no longer receive the notices.

You may Opt-Out of these notices at anytime, please see the Opt-Out policy below.


Events
CI-ASTD Monthly Board Meetings
10 days prior to the event - sent to all members of the chapter

Note - our By-Laws require the membership be notified of all board meetings 10 days prior to the event.  Failure to do this could result is our chapter losing accreditation with National ASTD.

Chapter Networking Connections
First event notice - 20-27 days prior to the event (this varies on an event by event basis)
Second event notice - 15-20 days prior to the event
Final event notice - 2 days prior to the event

Professional Development
First event notice - 60 days prior to the event
Second event notice - 30 days prior to the event
Final event notice - 10 days prior to the event

Programming
First event notice - 60 days prior to the event
Second event notice - 30 days prior to the event
Final event notice - 10 days prior to the event

Other Events
First event notice - 60 days prior to the event
Second event notice - 30 days prior to the event
Final event notice - 10 days prior to the event

Note - some events may start event notices as early as 90 days prior to the event.

You may Opt-Out of these notices at anytime, please see the Opt-Out policy below or you can Opt-Out by clicking the link in the Event Announcement.

Opting Out
There are three levels available if you choose to Opt-Out of e-mail communication from Central Iowa ASTD.

Option # 1
You will not receive any e-mail communication from CI-ASTD.  This includes all membership renewal notices, event notices, and any other communication from CI-ASTD.  If you choose this option, you acknowledge that you have initiated not receiving the monthly board meeting notices which are required in the chapter by-laws.

Option # 2
You will not receive any event announcements from CI-ASTD.  You will receive the membership renewal notices, and any other communications from the chapter.  If you choose this option, you acknowledge that you have initiated not receiving the monthly board meeting notices which are required in the chapter by-laws.

Option # 3
You will not receive any of the additional communication from CI-ASTD.  You will receive all event announcements, and membership renewal notices.

Note - if you renew your membership, or register for an event, you will receive confirmation of the activity to your account.

To Opt-Out please follow the steps below:
Login to your account on the homepage
After logging in, click on View Profile (below your name)
Click Edit Profile
Click E-Mail Subscriptions
Uncheck the boxes of the communication you wish not to receive
Click Save

This may take up to 48 hours to stop all e-mails, as some may be in process.

You may also Opt-Out by clicking here to send an e-mail stating you wish to Opt-Out.
In the subject line, please type OPT-OUT.
In the e-mail include the following:
Your name
Your e-mail address
The level you wish to Opt-Out (see above)
If you are opting out of a level that includes not to receive the monthly board meeting notices, please state you have agreed not to receive them even though this is required by in our chapter by-laws.

Note - you will receive an e-mail stating your preferences have been updated.

You may Opt back in at anytime by following the steps above, just check the boxes of the communications you wish to receive.
