Call for Speakers!
Looking for some facilitation practice? Or simply an opportunity to network with local professionals? The Altoona Chamber of Commerce is looking for a dynamic speakers to present at one of their next meetings. You would be presenting to Millennial and Gen Y members in the 21-35 age range with the following topics as their area of interest:
- Preserving the Personal Touch in a High-Tech World
- Organizational Development 101 – What is it? Are you doing it? Where to start….
- Succession Planning – Planning Today for a Secure Tomorrow
If you have knowledge or interest in any of these topics, this is a VOLUNTEER request and not a paid engagement being posted. ASTD wants to help promote the profession of Learning and Development in our community and connecting our skills with the needs of our area businesses is just one small way we can give back. If you are interested please contact Alan Feirer VP Strategic Partnerships, with your interest and to obtain further detail on this engagement.
The Character Counts! program is well-known in Iowa’s public school system. The program has helped train a generation of Iowa’s young people on the qualities that contribute to strong character and citizenship. Now the Institute for Character Development would like to take these concepts into Iowa workplaces. The Central Iowa ASTD chapter has volunteered to repurpose their materials and make them ready for use in business-based sessions.
