Employee Learning Week - Recognizing, Promoting and Celebrating Commitments to Learning
December 3-7, 2012
Employee Learning Week (ELW) is the time dedicated annually to recognize organizations that are committed to learning. The campaign is aimed at business leaders to help them "realize that the most important asset in a knowledge economy is talent and that a skilled workforce is the key to realizing results." (Tony Bingham, President, ASTD). ASTD research demonstrates that organizations continue to invest in growing the knowledge and skills of the workforce.
The Central Iowa ASTD chapter will celebrate employee learning week with three great events. Start your day off at Career Development Day. This informative and interactive day includes a great keynote speaker, and two rounds of concurrent sessions. The morning wraps up with a great closing speaker.
Stay for lunch to hear Penny Galbreath deliver the state of the chapter address. After the speech, witness the swearing in of the new board, and say thanks to those who are leaving board.
In the afternoon, celebrate the best of the best with the Workplace Learning & Performance Awards. The Workplace Learning and Performance (WLP) Awards are the highest honor awarded by Central Iowa ASTD. Covering several categories within the Learning and Performance industry the awards celebrate the workplace excellence of our dedicated members. During this afternoon session, learn more about WLP awards from recipients. And…celebrate with the 2011 WLP Award winners who will be acknowledged during the session.
WLP Award Categories Include:
* Award Category #1: Training as a Business Strategy
* Award Category #2: Impact to Business
