Penny Galbreath, a member since 2004, has served the ASTD chapter in several capacities over the years; she has been a board member since 2007. Penny's involvement with the chapter has provided her a variety of opportunities to apply her skills and talents. She holds a bachelor's degree in Business Development, and a master's degree in Organizational Development. Penny co-facilitated a training session in 2011 with another CI-ASTD board member. Penny lives in Des Moines with her husband Rick, and their two very spoiled boys, Owen and Lebron, who, by the way, are miniature pinschers! Penny also has two adult children, Megan and Tony, along with her beautiful granddaughter, Airam.
Jen Goemann is the I.T. Manager of Training and Development at Aviva Life Insurance Company in Des Moines. She specializes in technology project specific consulting, learning gap analysis and design and delivery of learning solutions. Jen served Central Iowa ASTD in 2011 as VP of Strategic Partnerships, a new role created for 2011. She has served our members in some capacity since 2005 and looks forward to serving in this new and exciting way. In her spare time, Jen enjoys biking, reading and writing. She spends as much time as she can outdoors with her two children, Riley and Jace. She coaches soccer and tries to keep up with her daughters track training.
Dennis Michener is a trainer with over 20 years experience in the training and development industry. Born and raised in Des Moines, IA, he has also lived in NC, MD, and returned to Iowa when his son was born. Dennis lives in Johnston, IA with his wife Patricia, son Jerrid, and his dog Clark. Dennis has earned a Bachelor degree in Business from William Penn University, and a Master degree in Adult Learning, Performance, and Development from Drake University. Dennis has served on the Board of Directors for the Des Moines Ronald McDonald House and the Central Iowa chapter of the American Society for Training and Development.
