In this monthly feature, the department leaders of Central Iowa ASTD will give you a look at what they have planned for you over the next year. In the first installment - Pleasure Allen and Member Engagement.
Greetings!
The Member Engagement Committee has been extremely busy thus far in the 2012 year! We started the year off by celebrating the great talent, and wonderful accomplishments of 2011. We also recognized that our success is dependant on YOU the member(s). It is the member(s) of ASTD that make up this fine chapter.
As you know ASTD is the world’s largest association dedicated to the training and development field. We strongly believe that in order to engage members we must show the value each member brings, and share this with others! Without the knowledge, experience, and diversity of the members we will not succeed in becoming better, and stronger!
With that I want to take a moment to highlight the many benefits afforded to you as a member of the ASTD Central Iowa Chapter:
- Networking with others in the training and development Industry
- A chance to volunteer and enhance your professional growth
- Monthly chapter meetings and programming events each year
- Regular communications that keep you connected with the chapter and gives an opportunity to gather more great development tips
In closing, and in the sprit of celebrating the great talent among us, meet Danny McCraine in the below member spotlight
Danny McCraine is currently a trainer with Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield. During his career, he has functioned as an e-learning specialist, performance consultant, instructional designer, facilitator, and band director. Danny was a major driver toward e-learning adoption while he was at ING, pioneering ING's only e-learning style guide, developing workflow documentation, tools and templates, and ultimately resulting in the formation of an e-learning team!
Danny decided to join ASTD to expand his current skill set, and to network with other trainers. He anticipates that being a member of ASTD will provide opportunities for professional growth, networking, and pathways to credentialing.
