Project Management for Training

This presentation will encourage you to blend the disciplines of project management with the essentials of good instructional design which results in performance improvement. Project success depends upon the managed expectations of all stakeholders (sponsor, project manager, project team members, your organization, etc.). You’ll get lots of tools, advice, and best practices on how to treat your training initiatives like projects, and get better results.
Objectives:
After my presentation, you will be able to:
- Define your training and development projects using commonly used project management terms, concepts, and principles
- Reconcile popular models of project management, ISD, product development, and HPT to inform you on your unique project
life cycle
- Define the role of project manager for your training projects
- Plan your training and development project using a robust project planning procedure
- Assess your project using the Seven Keys to Success
- Select and apply proven project tools to your projects based on your unique needs (How much project management do I need?)
- Draft an action plan for your training project
